Imogen Gibbons

We spent this weekend in Tofino at the beautiful Wickaninnish Inn. It was Imogen’s first time out of the city(!) and she was mostly wild with excitement. The Wick as it’s referred to locally has a beautiful restaurant, but initially it seemed as though Imogen was going to be the least popular guest in the dining room. True to form, though, she charmed almost everyone, not to mention ate almost everything on offer, including squash soup, parsnips, oxtail, potatoes, strawberries, hummus and cantaloupe.

This weekend was our first real holiday in over a year and of course over too soon.

And what else is there to do on a bed but bounce?

The sunset over the Pacific is truly spectacular.

Chesterman Beach is peaceful and mostly unspoilt. One of our goals is to own a house on the beach here. In a year or two, perhaps.

The West Coast is defined for me by this particular combination of ocean and light and forest.
